 Machine Operator 

 FORT MILL, SC

The Machine Operator is chosen for his/her performance and knowledge of production operations. The person chosen for this position leads by example, pays attention to detail, follows instructions and assists the Manufacturing Manager with all production items.

Responsibilities:

  • Proper use of equipment.
  • Accurate reading and following of work order instructions.
  • Recording part counts, lot, batch and cure (if applicable) and scrap amounts.
  • Tooling loading, use and storage as well as identification.
  • Proper packaging (i.e., protect materials throughout handling and shipping).
  • Proper labeling of product (how many labels and label content-P/N, Qty, Lot, etc.).
  • Equipment preventative maintenance (if requested and trained to perform).
  • Ryobi and other customer cycle counts.
  • Identification and communication of waste during fabrication.
  • Storage and identification of raw material stock.
  • Recording of labor for parts produced.
  • Clean up of shop area- responsibilities.
  • Record run parameters.
  • Follow safety protocol in your area.
  • Contribute to production feasibility meetings (if requested)

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.

PPAP ASSISTANT 

CHANDLER, ARIZONA

This position requires that the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) Assistant be detail oriented and self-motivated, with a working knowledge of AIAG 4th Edition Level III PPAP’s. The PPAP Assistant is responsible for the timely processing of PPAP submissions through the system and assuring customer due dates are met. PPAP Assistant acts as the Sales Department’s representative when working with suppliers, customers, fabrication personnel, quality personnel and packaging/shipping personnel. All unresolved quality issues are referred to the Quality Assurance Manager for resolution and instructions when required. PPAP Assistant reports to the QA Manager and receive work assignments from the Inside Sales Team.

    • Create manufacturing and distribution PPAP submission per customer requirements and AIAG 4th edition PPAP guidelines.
    • Continually gain knowledge of materials, manufacturing production processes and how to create acceptable submissions for each customer.
    • Master blueprint reading and interpretation, proper selection of measurement gauges, individual customer requirements and expectations.
    • Provide capability feedback to the Inside Sales Team during drawing and contract reviews.
    • Maintain proper filing of quality documents, and retrieval of quality documents.

      • Proficient in the use of common inspection tools and equipment.
      • Ability to properly select and operate measurement tools effectively based on material types and size.
      • Ability to teach others to Process PPAPs (cross-training or new PPAP Specialists)
      • Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in the performance of the individual’s duties.
      • Knowledge of blue print reading, interpretation, and application.
      • Familiar with PSW’s, dimensional validation reports, control plans, process flows, PFMEAs, CPK Studies, Gauge R&R, material test reports and C of C’s.
      • Computer skills for moving, tracking, locating parts and material within an AS400 system, additionally the ability to research and retrieve supplier/customer resources and requirements as needed from an internet-based system.
      • Knowledge of the various QMS requirements; i.e. ISO, AS, TS, etc., and the ability to apply these requirements to the individual’s duties.

Education:

College degree or equivalent > minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a related field

INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

 CHANDLER, ARIZONA

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for sales growth and development of new and continuous business for State Seal Company. Inside Sales is the first point of contact for daily customer service needs. Inside Sales works closely with Outside Sales for effective account management.

    • Develop knowledge of State Seal Company products, processes and capabilities
    • Customer Order entry and maintenance.
    • Creates Quotations for new business in adherence with SSC policies and considers costs for labor, freight and purchase of raw materials or finished parts
    • Relationship management providing excellent customer service and business retention with assigned Accounts
    • Project management coordinating customer projects including materials, tooling and manufacturing orders Job Orders as part of a larger team to include Outside Sales, Manufacturing and Quality Control, as appropriate
    • Work with Purchasing to place and expedite Purchase Orders in accordance with company need while considering scheduled lead times and cost of the order

APPLICATION & DESIGN ENGINEER

 CHANDLER, ARIZONA

State Seal Company is seeking an Application and Design Engineer with hands-on experience in elastomer materials, gaskets, and sealing applications. This role works directly with customers and internal teams to develop, specify, and troubleshoot sealing solutions from concept through production.

Responsibilities:

    •           Partner with sales and customers to understand application requirements and recommend appropriate materials and gasket/seal designs

                Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances (GD&T) for custom sealing components

                Select materials based on chemical compatibility, temperature range, compression set, and mechanical performance

                Support new product development, prototyping, and design validation testing

                Troubleshoot field or production issues related to seal performance, fit, and material failure

                Collaborate with manufacturing/quality on die design, tooling, and process feasibility for die-cut and molded parts

                Prepare technical documentation, quotes, and application support materials for the sales team

     

Qualifications:
 

          Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

          Experience with elastomer materials (rubber, silicone, foam, PSA-backed materials) and their properties

          Familiarity with gasket and seal design principles, including compression, sealing force, and material selection

          Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and reading engineering drawings

          Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software

          Strong communication skills — able to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams

          Experience with die cutting, converting, or gasket fabrication processes

          Familiarity with industry standards relevant to sealing applications (e.g., ASTM, military/aerospace specs)

          Experience with adhesive/PSA construction and bonding methods

          Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial supplier environment
