Comply with CE and FCC Regulations

November 8, 2019At State Seal, we get a lot of requests to source O-Rings that are certified to NAS1613 Revisions 2 and 6. The most common request would be O-Rings made by Parker-Hannifin which consisted of a compound called E0515 followed by a part number like “2-014.” Sometimes these part numbers are referred to NAS1611-xxx or NAS1612-xxx depending on the Aero Industry Drawing used. A lot of drawings specifically referred to compound E0515, but would also refer the O-Rings it to be compliant with NAS1613 Rev 2 or 6. These O-Rings are Parker-Hannifin’s Ethylene-Propylene Compound.
Due to a supplier of an ingredient for the E0515 compound unexpectedly and suddenly ceasing operations in late 2018, Parker took steps to certify material EM163-80 to NAS1613 Revision 2 and Revision 6. The final requirement of the certification was to complete endurance cycling. EM163-80 successfully passed Revision 2 on May 8, 2019.
We understand this obsolescence represents an unexpected challenge for our customers and we are happy to help with the transition in any way we can. If you have any questions regarding the performance of E0515 vs EM163, please feel free to contact an Application Engineer at (602) 437-1532 or email us at info@stateseal.com.
